In our music video we will be challenging sterotypes as we will show women as the cheating type and men as the ones who are faithful to their partner. This can show that it is not always the men who feel the need to cheat on their girlfriends, women are just as capeable of doing this as well. So this will mean women are represented as being unfaithful and men as faithful.

Conventions in music videos and our music video

Conventions in music video's are common features that you will expect to see within a music video. These include fast paced editing

lip singing, band playing together and lots of different camera shots.

There are many genreic conventions that you see in many indie/rock video's, such as panning shots, special effects, high angle shots and dark lighting. There are many genre conventions within this genre also such as long hair, dark clothing, dark make-up and skinny jeans.

Within our video we want to make sure that we get the genre conventions right so that the audience will be able to decode our video as the genre that we want to get across to them. We want to make sure we make our lead singer look attractive and dressed right for the part. We will make sure that the mise en scene is right for the story line and the scene's we will be shooting

-Music videos are made to be a short film that illustrates the meaning of why the song was written. They are made to market a musician or musicians music so that people have something to watch while they are listening to the song and so that they can see who actually sings the song. Music videos started taking place in the 1980's when MTV started to become popular for their viewings of the videos.

- MTV is one of the main and most popular companies which show music video's on TV, in the United Kingdom alone they own 12 music channels and many more in other countries. Other than music videos being shown on the TV, it has now become very popular for them to be shown on the internet. Many more people use the internet nowadays than ever before, and the most famous internet channel that is used to watch music videos is YouTube. This has become very popular within the last few years as many people upload their own videos as well as having official music videos of musicians.

Where can you find music Videos?

- The best place for you to find a music video that you want to watch will be the internet on YouTube, the TV is also a good place to find new music videos that have just come out and for you to here new music also. Now with lots of modern technology you can now access music videos from YouTube on your phone for you to share with friends and for you to also watch and listen on the go.

What is the purpose of music videos?

- One of the main purposes of music videos is that the listener is able to see a visual of the song, this is going to make the listener be able to understand what the song is about a lot more and may make them see if they like it or if they don't. Another purpose for a music video is so that the listener can see what the singer is like and how they look and if they look the way they thought they would. This gives the listener part of an escapism as they can see what a celebrities life is like.
